Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I know if I need a new boiler?
If your boiler is more than 10–15 years old, frequently breaking down, struggling to maintain pressure or costing significantly more to run than it used to, it may be time to consider a replacement. Our engineers can assess your current system and give you an honest recommendation, whether that’s a repair or a full replacement.

2. Which boiler brands do you fit?
We fit boilers from Vaillant, Worcester Bosch and Glow-worm. All three are market-leading manufacturers known for quality, energy efficiency and reliability. We’ll help you choose the right make and model based on your property, your hot water usage and your budget.

3. Do you offer LPG boilers as well as gas?
Yes. We fit both gas and LPG boilers, which is particularly useful for properties in rural parts of Gower that aren’t connected to the mains gas network.

4. How long does a new boiler installation take?
Most new boiler installations are completed within a single day. More complex jobs, such as a system change or a relocation of the boiler, may take longer. We’ll give you a clear timeframe as part of your quote.

5. What warranty comes with a new boiler?
All new boilers we fit come with a manufacturer’s warranty. The length of cover varies by brand and model, and we’ll make sure you’re fully informed about what’s included before any work begins.

1. How often should I have my boiler serviced?
We recommend an annual boiler service. Having your boiler checked every 12 months keeps it running safely and efficiently, helps avoid unexpected breakdowns and keeps your manufacturer’s warranty valid.

2. How much does a boiler service cost?
Our boiler servicing is priced at £85 + VAT. This includes a thorough inspection, safety checks and a full report on the condition of your system.

3. What’s included in a boiler service?
Our service covers gas and water pressure checks, inspection of all key components, a flue gas analysis, safety checks for carbon monoxide and a visual inspection of your pipework and system. You’ll receive a full report at the end.

4. Do I need to have my boiler serviced to keep the warranty valid?
Yes. Most boiler manufacturers require annual servicing by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty in place. We’re qualified and approved to carry out warranty-compliant servicing.

1. What should I do if my boiler breaks down?

1. What is a powerflush, and when do I need one?
A powerflush is a deep clean of your central heating system, using specialist chemicals and high-pressure equipment to remove sludge, rust and debris from your radiators and pipework. Signs that you may benefit from a powerflush include cold spots on radiators, slow heating, discoloured water in radiators or a noisy boiler.

2. How much does power flushing cost?
Powerflushing starts from £650 + VAT for up to 8 radiators. We’ll give you an accurate quote based on your system during the survey stage.

1. Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?
Yes. All of our engineers are Gas Safe registered, which is a legal requirement for anyone carrying out gas work in the UK. You can ask to see our engineers’ Gas Safe identification at any time.
